Screensize in Slackware 8.1

Jus wondering if anyone knows an EASY way to change the screensize in Slackware 8.1 (that is if anyone has experimented with it) or knows where I can find out. I know there is a xf86config or xf86setup but that involves reconfiguring the whole X server. If there's a way to do this without doing all the reconfiguring stuff that would be a whole lot less headache. Thanks.

/etc/X11/XF86Config

in that file are all the X settings...

if configured right the [ctrl]+[alt]+[+] and [ctrl]+[alt]+[-] (the numpad plus and minus)
should change the resolution..

But I'd go for xf86config (as user root) if I were u..

You have to have multiple sections in the xf86config file,
each defining a different resolution, but you may have to do it by hand.
I've never been able to get it to work.

sudo>> I'l be sure to check out those links. I played with the xf86config and i keep getting whacked out resolutions or junky screens. I just wish you could do like windows and just go to the resolution that you like. Oh, well, I'll give it a shot.
