It moves the thread to the top of the viewing list. You may only do it once every 5 hours. It is often used to get answers on a post that had no views, or to revive it during an hour where more people are actively answering questions.

I would suggest deleting all but one of your previous posts, and bump the one you would like to keep. I noticed you posted the same question about 4 or 5 times. People are not to fond of things like that.
