    Sounds like u have a program that starts up and eats all your resources check the reg to c if some dumb program might be running. My parents download **** all the time that ****s there BOX hehe

    I would do to what chefer states above. But I wouldn't touch the registry at all at this point. Remove the Client for Microsoft Networks. Then restart. Then install the client for Microsoft Networks. This is the first basic W9x network troubleshooting tips M$ suggests with 9x kernel (Sounded absolutely stupid to me but I have done this a number of time and it does work) Also xmaddness suggest checking the setting for TCP/IP he is correct but remember he is giving you the default setting for your linksys. If you changed any of the information ip address ranges, etc. within your linksys then you need to use those setting rather then the ones he is listing above.

    Also, If you have another procotol installed (like NetBEUI, Etc.) uninstall TCP/IP by removing it fdrom the networking properties under the control panel. and then reinstall it after the reboot. I would install either ipx/spx or netbuie if you are only running TCP/IP I have seen the network go south if there is no protocol installed. Then you will be in a world of hurt having to remove adapters, restarting a hundred times, pain in the butt.

    If all else fails... IMHO... install the only OS M$ has that is worth anything W2K Pro..... I hate the 9x OS they just (frankly) are bad code... sorry that was my opinion take it or leave it just dont through the baby out twith the bath water...
