Your mother will be in my prayers and I hope that she will, as many have due to great technology, win this battle with cancer. I hope that in the end, everything goes well and I hope you keep us well informed of the process.

My mother has lipnos, and a brain tumor. They removed the brain tumor and it grew back twice as fast. Because the chemo is painful she refuses to go. I can't stand being around her, because of her attitude she has been having lately, but I don't want to miss the time she has left. The Doctor gave her 6 - 12 months. She has these nasty seizures, and they are the scariest thing I have ever seen. The sick thing is, she is my own mother, and I have been avoiding her, because I can't deal with seeing her like this. It is exspecially hard since I lost my grandmother the Christmas before last. I just feel like my life is going downhill fast. Plus as you all know from before, there is a chance I will be laid off, and the is no tech jobs in the area. She doesn't want to work, because she is afraid of people seeing her have seizures, she asks me for help, and I have been stingey fearing the possibility of being laid off.. I really don't know what to do, I am really down in the dumps right about now.... You know they say life is filled with both highs and lows, but I swear for every one good day I have, it is followed by 6 months low. . er0k, you know your my boy, and I wish you and yours the best of luck, but to be honest. You probably have nothing to worry about. Hey, I'm not one to steal the spot light, but if I don't get this **** out, I'll self destruct.

It isn't sick that you avoid her, it is sad for you both. The pain that your mother suffers is real, your pain is no less real. It is a horrible illness, cancer, eats away at the body and minds of both the one that is sick and the ones that love them.

I wish I could offer you some insightful wisdom to make things better but of course, I can't. I can only tell you that I have been there and know how terrible it feels to be caught in the middle of trying to figure out what is right.

I hope that you find what will make things easier for you and wish your mother less pain as well. Good luck and may you find the strenght you need.

My mom had cancer. We had to shave her head because of the cemo-therapy. She is better now.

I understand what it must be like for you...

My thoughts are with you er0k and JBF. My mum discovered lumps some time ago, and had them successfully removed, and has been good as gold for years now. I wish the same for your mum.

JBF, I had a neighbour with a brain tumour and I can sympathise with you. Rest assurred, he also pulled through successfully. Hope that your mother does the same.

My mother suffered from Hodgkin's Disease most of my early childhood. She received several radiation treatments and simultaneous chemotherapy sessions which wiped out the cancer in her body, but left so much tissue damage, that over the years, progressively has left her without a spleen, 20% heart and lung function, and overall, a body that is deteriorating around her.

I wish your mother the best of luck, and hope for her to remain in good spirits, as that is what has kept my mother around for as long as she has been. The doctors have told me several times that she wouldn't make it through the night, but she continues the fight. And now, the cancer may be back.

Most of all, be strong for her, you're both in my thoughts.

    You'll get through it.
