Throw your thoughts back many years
To the time when there was life in every morning
Perhaps a day will come
When the nights will be as on that morning
And if you want to stay for a little bit
Rest your aching limbs for a little bit
Before you the night is beckoning
And you know you can't delay
You hear the night birds calling you
But you can't touch the restless sky
Close your aching eyes beyond your name

swastikas and klan-robes.
sexist, racist, homophobes.
aryan-nations and hammerskins:
you can wear my nuts on your nazi chins!
god, i love a man in uniform!
(but, uh, before we get too intimate here, big fella):
what exactly are the great historical accomplishments of "your" race that make you proud to be white? capitalism? slavery? genocide? sitcoms? guns? war? pollution? addiction? nafta? thigh-master?
this is your ****ing white-history, my "friend".
so why don't we start making a history worth being proud of
and start fighting the real ****ing enemy: the white male capitalist supemacist.
swastikas and klan-robes. sexist, racist, homophobes.
this one's for the "master race":
my brown-power ass in your white-power face!
kill them all and let a norse god sort 'em out!
--Propaghandi
but what can just one of us do?
against all that money and power trying to crush us into roaches?
we don't destroy society in a day
until we change ourselves first from the inside out
we can start by not lying so much
and treating other people like dirt
it's easy not to base our lives on how much we can scam
and you know it feels good to lift that monkey off our backs
-- Dead Kennedys

Soggy Bottom Boys
I Am A Man Of Constant Sorrow
(chorus) In constant sorrow through his days
I am a man of constant sorrow
I've seen trouble all my day.
I bid farewell to old Kentucky
The place where I was born and raised.
(chorus) The place where he was born and raised
For six long years I've been in trouble
No pleasures here on earth I found
For in this world I'm bound to ramble
I have no friends to help me now.
(chorus) He has no friends to help him now
It's fare thee well my old lover
I never expect to see you again
For I'm bound to ride that northern railroad
Perhaps I'll die upon this train.
(chorus) Perhaps he'll die upon this train.
You can bury me in some deep valley
For many years where I may lay
Then you may learn to love another
While I am sleeping in my grave.
(chorus) While he is sleeping in his grave.
Maybe your friends think I'm just a stranger
My face you'll never see no more.
But there is one promise that is given
I'll meet you on God's golden shore.
(chorus) He'll meet you on God's golden shore

"But for the rites of spring
Come to mean all things
A little taste of what may come
A meer glimpse of what has gone
Cause for the moment we are free
We to find our release
Too young to die, too rich to care
Too ****ed to swear that I was there"

My song is from Garth Brooks. Before you immediately dismiss it because it is a country song, please read it thru one time. It moves me, and can bring me to tears on the right occasion. To me, with the current situation the US is in, perhaps the words to this song could bring us closer to a resolution.
We Shall Be Free
Written by: Garth Brooks, Stephanie Davis
This ain't comin' from no prophet
Just an ordinary man
When I close my eyes I see
The way this world shall be
When we all walk hand in hand
When the last child cries for a crust of bread
When the last man dies for just words that he said
When there's shelter over the poorest head
We shall be free
When the last thing we notice is the color of skin
And the first thing we look for is the beauty within
When the skies and the oceans are clean again
Then we shall be free
We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, walk proud
'Cause we shall be free
When we're free to love anyone we choose
When this world's big enough for all different views
When we all can worship from our own kind of pew
Then we shall be free
We shall be free
We shall be free
Have a little faith
Hold out
'Cause we shall be free
And when money talks for the very last time
And nobody walks a step behind
When there's only one race and that's mankind
Then we shall be free
We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, walk proud, have a little faith, hold out
We shall be free
We shall be free
We shall be free
Stand straight, have a little faith
We shall be free
And an excerpt from another of Garth's songs....he really tends to hit the nail on the head sometimes with his music, but it gets lost in the conceptions people hold of all country artists.
And if blood is
Thicker than water
Then what are we fighting for?
We’re all sons and daughters
Of something that
Means so much more
I see it on my TV
But I can’t understand
Lord, it’s one
Big contradiction to me
How in god’s name
We love thy neighbor with fists
In our hands
And kill each other
When we just don’t agree
Why can’t we see the walls
We can’t see through?
And see what God’s
Been telling me and you
(And that is)
Blood is thicker than water
Oh, but love
Love is thicker than blood
Now you have a peek inside my brain, and the music I love. Scared yet?
LOL!

Jedi Mind Tricks
Another sacrificial lamb
That died at the hands of Hologram
Sent him into the dungeon and bludgeoned his ****in' clan
Holy land
Who spit the live ****
The do or die, Illadelph Jedi Mind ****
The hot ****
Live raps crack your jaw
Like who's the avenger and who's at the center of war
I left a scar
So your crabs would understand
Mental will dent you and send you to a holy land
Lord know a man
Sharp blades slash your vitals
Recitals will fight you and entice you to burn Bibles
Homicidal
Hologram burn churches
Murders by stickin' a crucifix through your cervix
Divine purpose, for the Remi that's in my thermos
Wait and see we'll stick you with needles that's hypodermic
You heard the verdict
I'm with Allah 'cause he chose me
Broke into the Vatican, strangled the Pope with his rosary
Jedi Mind Tricks

Rage Against the Machine -- Settle for Nothing
Settle For Nothing
A jail cell is freedom from the pain in my home
Hatred passed on, passed on and passed on
A world of violent rage
But it's one that I can recognise
Having never seen the colour of my father's eyes
Yes, I dwell in hell, but it's a hell that I can grip
I tried to grip my family
But I slipped
To escape from the pain in an existence mundane
I gotta 9, a sign, a set and now I gotta name
Read my writing on the wall
No-one's here to catch me when I fall
Death is on my side....suicide!
Caught between my culture and the system....genocide!
Read my writing on the wall
No-one's here to catch me when I fall
If ignorance is bliss, then knock the smile off my face
Yeah!
If we don't take action now
We settle for nothing later
Settle for nothing now
And we'll settle for nothing later
If we don't take action now
We settle for nothing later
We'll settle for nothing now
And we'll settle for nothing later
If we don't take action now
We'll settle for nothing later
We settle for nothing now
And we'll settle for nothing later
If we don't take action now
We settle for nothing later
We'll settle for nothing now
And we'll settle for nothing later

far away

it's funny how
everything that swore it wouldn't change
is different now

we'll make it through
