This is weird... I came back to this thread by chance, and I swear I had a post near the end of it! Is some moderator dinking around with this thread? Or is their some weird caching error on my end? Very weird. Well, I'll repeat what I thought I wrote two days ago in shortened form.

I had just gotten back from a week of vacation. Wow, the thread has 1000 views already? It must be controversial. For whom it may interest, my AP level since I posted this thread and since I returned has hardly changed, which is how I prefer it, given that if I got too many negs, I'd be sad. If I got too many positives, people'd accuse (again) me of starting this for AP gain.

It's a bit surreal reading all the FB-Army stuff, I'm forced to consider that those guys (guy?) have a lot of time on their hands. (More, now than they've been banned.)

For all I care this thread can go get locked now, but at least the suggestions are out.

don't feel bad. i got banned on my old s/n here because of a type-o. And no i'm not exaggerating, or distorting the truth. I literally got banned for a type-o. The "self policing" thing needs 2 be drastically improved upon i think, even tho it was an extremely good idea when it was first introduced, however people on here abuse it and totally take advantage of it, exploiting it.

First, This thread is old an bringing back old threads might piss people off (It worked for me). Second, umm.. You were banned before here? If you were, like you said, you shouldn't re-join. Obviously you were banned for a reason and your presence, since you were banned, isn't welcome. Oh, and use common sense, if you were banned, don't go saying it.

Spyder, it was only one person under two or three screen names who banned me, i never once recieve any open complaints about my conduct on here and everyone knows (using that common sense you were speaking of) that when someone is banned on here they virtually always return under a different screen name, and are pretty much always open about it. I got repeatedly negged by the same guy multiple times which was why i was banned...and quite possibly because i stated that I thought there should be some improvement and reform to the self-policing system, i'll be negged by someone who abuses it in order to control this site. And Spyder, if you're doubting me, just go look at roll call logs and see how many people have boldly and plainly stated 'i'm back, i was banned under (whoever) but i'm back...etc etc'.

I noticed this thread was bumped before aut0psy posted, by the way. It's not like he dredged it up purposely.

Yeah, I also agree with your view that the 'self-policing' system using anti-points should be improved. I am also at the recieving end of this system, and have been negged by the same person many a times during my short stay over here so far. (I am sure that it was the same person due to the similarity in way of writing, and negging me on just one issue again and again).

It must be improved so that members should take undue advantage of it.

Sorry for yet again posting to this "should be allowed to die" thread but I have to let Manpreet know what he is claiming is impossible. The antipoint system DOES NOT allow someone to repeatedly neg the same member. There are as the FAQ says, had you bothered to read it, litterally hundreds of checks and balances to prevent abuse. Incidentally, the best way to keep getting negs is to keep complaining about them.

But, a member with 2 or 3 different names can neg. Can AO system prevent this?

spyder, don't worry about it s'all gravy baby :P. But manpreet's right, the guy that got me banned (when i was still a newbie) negged me repeatedly under different s/n's because of an opinion i had on religion. He or she was fanatic about it or something and I had stated a personal opinion about the sept. 11th attacks, so i got the exact same message in my antipoints 'If you don't like it, leave" over...and over...and over again, which I think is extremely unjust if you're simply posting your personal opinion. This is an open community, people should only be negged if you do something bothersome such as posting insults, or anything that is simply distasteful or annoying, not for your personal opinions on things. I'm really not whining, so please do not neg me for it, but I think its ridiculous that I recieve both negative and positive points for the same post. I've even gotten negged for saying that I knew how to pick pockets...? Again, please understand that I'm only trying to productively contribute to this place since I enjoy it so much, i'm not whining or griping about it, simply saying that it's a great place with even more potential.
