"Theirs a slight difference between "tracking your spending habits" and developing a physiological profile on ever citizen. That’s like calling an alligator a lizard.".....agreed Tedob1, I went off on a slightly skewed tangent there.
Yet, compiling a physiological profile of me seems critical from the start. Am I to be profiled based on my purchases? I bought some weed killer and a BB gun, but John Q Public bought nitrogen enriched fertilizer and a .38, so he should be watched closer.
I\'d rather die on my feet than live my life on my knees.

For instance, someone might not want to buy a condom if the government or some guy seeing the records see's he bought one. The guy would obviously be ashamed or something.
I think someone has a few issues with buying rubbers at stores Condoms would be the least of my concerns with this bill

The goal of the program, funded by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA), is to construct a “virtual, centralized, grand database” containing every Americans’ electronic transactions, such as credit card purchases, bank and medical records, travel data, e-mails and phone calls.
That information is to be linked with biometric data such as face recognition technology and digital fingerprints, and provided instantly to law enforcement to detect patterns of terrorist activity, the government says.
Spearheading the initiative is former Navy Rear Adm. John Poindexter, a Reagan administration official who was implicated in the illegal sale of arms to the Nicaraguan Contras.

When politicians appear on news shows and downplay the bill, but won't look at the camera or look the interviewer in the eye, it's serious. I watched two on FoxNews tonight. They looked at the desk, over the camera, at their hands, everywhere but at the other guy, all the while telling him there was nothing to worry about. That worried me. All politicians will look you squarely in the face and lie through their teeth. If things are so bad that one can't, then we REALLY better be concerned.

A lot of this has already been done in the US military... THey already track everyone with an ID card in everything they do... I would imagine that it wouldn't take to long to expand it beyond the military and into the civilian sector... When we signed up we knew that we were giving up some of our rights so my wife could serve and we didn't have a problem with that... It is disheartening to know that once she retires or decides to get out that we won't be getting those rights back... Its almost enough to make one wnat to head for the hills and live in a cave...
