I tried an interesting experiment today….I negged six people (all of whom seem to have ties to JRoc) with the same comment…”death to the alliance” and of course got very interesting responses. The people I negged were spyder32, ratman2, 1pizzaluvr4u, ebo, HurrayForSchool, and tedob1. The responses I got were “…” (minimal AP damage), “**** you god damnit” (perhaps a minus 8 or 9), and “Death to YOUR alliance you sick ****, and tell Neg and So [note: this got cut off, but I assume it was.... "Souleman they are next" based on some antipoints I recently got]

Now, I wasn’t aware that we had an alliance, and I’m pretty sure that this probably is news to you also. We may have exchanged information and suspicions, but to my knowledge we have not entered into a point swapping arrangement at any time.

Why these people? As you know, I got to know JRoc a bit before the banning of his JCHosting persona. During that time he admitted to me that he, ratman and tedob were good friends and all live close to each other in New Jersey. He also asked me to keep this a secret (not a good indicator of virtuous character). He also has bragged that he still has major AP “pull” and is responsible for the rise of tedob1 to his current AP status. As for the [note: again this got cut off. It was sent to me in IRC, the original message wasn't forwarded to me, so obviously somehow small parts got removed]

I know that JP just really doesn’t want to hear about this crap, so I figure that talking to him is not an option. However, it might relieve the situation if he were to remove the ‘top ten’ AP list from the main page, OR convert it to a ‘top twenty’ list to get some of the heat off the rest of us. I know you guys are getting the **** negged out of you too, and so is debwalen.

I’m taking a week off and going to the beach, and I have no doubt that by the time I return I’ll be off the top ten list (sigh of relief). If you can think of any other ways we might be able to solve this conundrum, by all means let’s hear your ideas! Seeya in about a week!!

Sorry for quoting this again, I didn't understand it last time. The only person I've ever remotely told any form of a secret to and that he backstabbed me was allenb1963. it's clear as day that it was him, and I'm actually pissed off. He is very untrustworthy and it's really upsetting. However, he has made a mistake. I NEVER said Ratman live's in NJ and I NEVER said I "helped get tedob1 to the top" nor have I done that either. That is stupid as hell and annoying. I don't have "ap pull" and that would be another false accusation. Allenb1963: You might have tried a stupid ass experiment by abusing the ap system, but it was pointless and dumb. Also, and people probably will agree, that you tried an experiment and negged people for no reason other than your little experiment. They didn't deserve the neg's and you negged them not just because of the experiment, but because you THOUGHT they had ties to me. I know I did some lame **** and I said some lame ****, but damn..

Oh oh! The Dallas (the serie, not the town) like APs discussions came back.
It sound like some old days, and I'm amazing that APs continue to provocate such reactions.
2 things that everybody should remind:
- All of this is only some 1 and 0 in a computer. So, don't be so excited and irritated.
- "On Internet, nobody know you're a dog". So, don't try to determinate who is who.

Euh, and a third thing also:
- AntiOnline: place to discuss about computer security and knowledge. And not to becoming worst than politicians.

A quick clarification for everyone: AP's are NOT a sign of respect on this board. AP's are nothing more than a visual record of how many times you've evoked a positive or negative emotional response out of people. That's it. And on a board supposedly about technical information, that's not very encouraging. The reason I know this is that I've seen countless threads that go by completely unnoticed by the AP system that contain a wealth of information for the people with questions.

I've all but abandoned the AP system as of late. I've grown tired of the fallout. I highly recommend the same for anyone else who cares to listen. For the newbies who can't ignore it for fear of getting banned until they get a few more positives under their belt, my best advice is to simply ignore the *******s and just post informative threads whenever possible. I'll be watching.

For those few higher-up members who have difficulty letting this crap drop, please stop adding fuel to the fire with hearsay, rumors and gossip. You should be in a safe enough position with your own status to weather any kind of AP storm.

gawd not all this **** again what i would really like to see is proof of these so called AP alliances which has never been present in any AP case it has just been acusations(we have had a few now).Cant we all just grow up and get along ? the majority of us here at AO are adults yet most act like brainless children.We are supposed to be an on-line security community but all the AP have went to people's heads and ego's souleman do you know who originaly sent the PM ? it sems like a pointless rant because of there so called experiment (which was totally wrong to do) to the person who sent souleman this can you provide proof ?.Take a minute to think of what you are acusing people of if 1pizzaluvr4u was in any AP alliance do you think she would have been in the red not so long ago cmon lighten up and lay off.And if ratman2 has been in any AP aliance dont you think he would have moved up a few dots ? he has been at the 8 dot stage for as long as i can remember

and Spyder32 i can honestly say he has hinted to me in PM to give him AP he said something like if people green me i tend to green them this was not long after he joined and i explained to Spyder32 that AP alliances could get you banned and to not bother giving me any AP and ebo pff i dont know how he got so many points prolly cause people aggree with what he says in all the political threads i honestly dont know and hurrafy or school cmon dont you think he would be in the green if he were in any aliance ?

so all in all grow up after all its only dots beside your handle do AP really afect you that much IRL that you feel as if you need to stir up yet more conspiracys all im asking for is proof of the acusations

personally, i think any little alliances like this are kinda stupid, but whatever. either way, i think Jehnny has some sort of grudge against me. he negged me with a comment of something along the lines of "Hahahahah - jehnny". but it's not like it's that big a deal.

well, then i'm sorry. when i got a comment which was signed under your name, i just went by the assumption that it was, in fact, you. this is just one of those crazy things i do.

i figured you might have a grudge because 1) i thought it was you, 2) the post that got negged wasn't all that stupid, and 3) pretty well the first time i talked to you was with that encryption thing, and we just weren't clear with each other, so i simply believed you were just trying to break someone's encryption.

regardless, i should have figured that you would have been able to come up with something a little more subtle than "Hahahah!!!!! -jehnx (jehnny)!!!" as a comment.

well i thought that these "alliances" had gone away for a while not died just layed low cause of the bannings etc

now that jason is back if thats his real name the amount he has lied well we can never know they surface again and he seems to be back at the center of things comman trait their i think

my thoughts on APs they mean nuthing people if you walked into a job interview and they asked what experiance have you had in the it industry well i have 11 dots on antionline they will give u the usual "**** off but in a polite way" email/letter

antionline has gone down a lot these days this isnt one of those crappy threads ones this is a antipoint bitch something we the user short of beating the **** outa the people cant do aliances are ruining the true spirit of the ap system its like comunism it can work and if worked properly it would have been a great state to live in but people who are ultimatly evil ruined it if you need a explination of that analogy feel free to PM someone else.

my solution
not to get rid of them but to have 1. a zero tolerance policy
2. further policing with some bigger checks in place not to ban the user but to flag them and JP can monitor them question etc we all know the problem with quads account

I tend to draw upon my own impressions of people seen a few people while perhaps still linger in doing bad things time to time were banned to come back and yep still earn points, don't think it was because people sided with them but because enough people make up their own minds when handing out points, if a small group wants to promote their members at some point and enough points their knowledge will run out and the will suffer foot in mouth syndrone. Fact is I don't like some of my points especally where I'm negged about M$ products and "They" want to know what OS I support. I don't bitch about them often find I learn more from why I was negged and the comments made because I have a better understanding of the person that gave the neg then they do of me. Things like what buttons to push if I want to or better put need to use to make a valid point. I never trust anything forwareded to me over the web after all I still get Warbbler and MS IP virus warnings forwarded to me all of them pure and simple hoax's. Is perhaps the frrward yet the true alliance people actually believing it?
