Server Crashed Need Help
Hey guys. A friend of mine is having problems with the server he is using to run 3 of his sites. They are hosted by some company in Texas. Charging him $450 a month. The stats of what he has now are below. Do you know of any cheaper Companies that would host his sites?
Server specs:
P4 2.0Ghz
2x 80gb 7200 rpm IDE HDD
1gb RAM
ENSIM control panel
Connection
Unmetered 10mbit/sec cogent connection
2 of the Sites:

www.JetPhotos.net

I use hostway.com. Dunno if it will be cheaper or not but it's worth a shot. I've never had issues with them.

Depends on what kind of hosting your looking for... Is this a dedicated or shared server? Our company uses a Win2k host Crystaltech. http://www.crystaltech.com They are an awesome host and provide excellent support. (Even at 2am on a Sunday when I am trying to get a website published and ftp account does not work) They are also one of the fastest growing hosts in the world. (According to Netcraft)

Thanks for your help guys. Anyone else know of some hosts that can handle sites & connections like this?

Horrible price if it is shared hosting.
Anyways, for $100-150 a month you could get a T1 line, and though there would obviously be a big startup cost involved, your friend could host them himself (assuming he has the neccessary expertise).
End up being a LOT cheaper in the end..
Stop the unborn chicken voices in my head...

There are a bunch of hosting places out there but as was said before, hosting himself will save him money in the long run, and he will have a fast network connection
