In all honesty, paying off...err ... settling the case outta court was the dumbest thing he could have done. If he were innocent as he claims, why not fight it in court and clear his name?
To me, that shows he's hiding something.
I don't necessarily agree with that statement. Think about it this way.
10 million, or whatever the payoff amount was, is not that much money to MJ, or anybody that has the amount of money that he does/did. So would you rather give up some money, that you have plenty of(say less than 1% of your total wealth), and avoid months of trials, interviews, slander, and allegations? Or give up months of your life, and save some money that you have plenty of..
And as far as the parents of the children that was supposedly molested. i would never, ever take money from someone who did that to my child, if I had any. How sick is it that someone would use the pain and anguish of their child to make some money. I would get satisfaction out of knowing that the person who did what they did was in jail and more than likely getting corn-holed on a daily basis. Just goes to show that it is amazing how much people are swayed by money. If the rape of that child really did happen.
I honestly think that is why so many famous people are the targets of this kind of thing. It's kind of easy money just waiting to be made..
As for MJ sleeping with children and that being such an outrage.. I don't get that. If there is truly no sexual intent, and no sexual gratification being gained, it's not really that bad of a thing. One of my best friends has two young children and I have on a few occassions fallen asleep at their house only to wake up with one of their two children having joined my on the couch. Nothing wrong with that. These tv shows saw that they had the ability to make something sensational out of possibly nothing and they did it for ratings, and for nothing else. ABC, NBC, or CBS could care less about any of the children that have maybe been harmed, they only care if it can make them money.
I think the problem with all of this is that people are automatically assuming he is doing it because he is a pervert, and we have no evidence to show that. If there were evidence, he would be in jail, because I honestly don't think that child molestation is something that our court system takes lightly.
It is all rather silly though, with all of the important issues going on in the world that people could rally behind and maybe make a difference, they are instead choosing to sit at home and watch specials about how somebody else is living their life.

4 words for everyone living in the USA.
INNOCENT UNTIL PROVEN GUILTY
Until he is proven guilty in a court of law by a jury of peers, I wish everyone would just shut the **** up. You'd think nobody had a life of there own.

Well...it's not so easy. Michael Jackson is a public figure and anyone that puts themself in the situation of being publicly known has the responsibility of being somewhat "socially responsible". IF the person is not being socially responsible (dangling babies from balconies...sleeping with young boys, etc) of course the public will let that person know about it!

True enough, but Quad did have a point. Depsite what looks bad to the public may not be what it is 100%... Like I said, it's my opinion he is hiding something, but until it is proven beyond a resonable doubt by a jury, that's all it is.

this is an interesting statement. who are Michael Jackson's peers? the guy behaves like a child if you gave him millions of dollars to play with. if i was like ten years old and i had a few hundred million dollars i might build myself an amusement park and have sleepovers too. MJ shows the most appauling judgement regarding his personal behavior, and the behavior of his so-called children, none of whom have any genetic traits of being black.
i don't know if Jacko is capable of physically molesting children, but he is certainly guilty of improper conduct and possibly child abuse. in the court of public opinion he's already been convicted, and i guess i don't have a problem with that. mentally he may be a child, but in a court of law he'll be judged by his real peers--most of whom have a little problem with sleeping with kids.
whether or not this stays in the news, Jacko is finished. his last album was a miserable failure and his reputation is all washed up with middle America. he's also nearly bankrupt from what i hear -- eventually he'll go away.

I love when *******s like you regurgitate **** that some other half-wit says and call it fact.

Who are you, me, or anyone else to judge someone elses actions or behavior? Until you're in his situation you have ZERO right to judge him on any moral grounds.
Genetic traits of being black? WTF does that even remotely have to do with anything?

Court of opinion? Opinions are like *******s, we all have them and they all STINK. I do agree that sleeping with childeren is weird, and I sure would not allow my children to be alone with him. BUT that does not mean he has done anything wrong. Made some bad decicisions yes, don't we all, and don't we all deserve another chance.

Finished, this is what really made me laugh. MJ has MILLIONS of dollars in physical assets alone. MJ ALSO owns 1/2 the beatles catalog which generates MILLIONS of dollars in revenue EVERY YEAR. MJ ALSO retains sole ownership of his past work, copyrights, trademarks, etc, etc, etc. Which again generate MILLIONS every year, cause last time I check MJ sold records WORLD WIDE.
MJ is not bankrupt, will not be bankrupt anytime in the forseeable future. So next time you want to go around slandering someone make sure you get your facts straight kiddo.
Now go give mommy a kiss for me.

What do creepy eighties pop stars have to do with computer security?
Squirrels have bushy tails
I cut them off, then I laugh.
That squirrel has no tail.
