No, it hasn't been done yet. The work will start about 5-6 hours from n ow --- it is scheduled for Today, TUESDAY 1 PM EST (6 PM GMT).
And when the site is down, it is completely down. But if all goes well, it will back in just a few hours.

Sorry for being the pessimist, but what happens if all doesnt go well!
Whats the worst case scenario?

r3b00+, the worst case scenario: Jupman accidently hurts his little finger while typing at some keyboard, delaying the serverchange for about 2 seconds. In that extra two seconds, someone here gets bored and desides to take a look at some other board, which, because of the small extra serverload on that board, delays the output of that board by about 4milliseconds, pissing of some guy that's in the pentagon and should've been working instead of browsing the internet in the first place. Oh well, because he get's bored online, he actually starts working... to make a long story short, WW3 breaks out, the polarcaps melt, the scottish can grow pineapples and they will be independant, 'cause England won't be there anymore (everyone, go see Mitch Benn).
either that, or they run out of coffee.
I wish to express my gratitude to the people of Italy. Thank you for inventing pizza.

I'm still worried about the leprechauns trying to steal antipoints.
Are they being moved to the new server too?

Considering the ub3r slowness of the site the last couple of days, almost anything would be a huge improvement. But damn what am I going to do w/out the site for a whole few hours? Guess this means I'm going to have to go out that door over there and find out what that big shiny orange thing in the sky is.
Seriously Jup, I'm looking forward to a little more speed. Hope things go smoothly and we're back up and running quickly soon.
