It also seems pretty funny to me that so many people are think that this site has been run as a democracy. When it has never been that. JP did what he felt was best for the board, or the best use of his time, and the subscriber base has stayed. Everybody hated AP's when they were first implemented, everybody whined and complained about it, yet everybody stayed. Please remember that AO has always been run as a company, and for profit(except when it was run as a hobby site).

I for one would love to see more original content being posted. The tutorials are many times just regurgitated technical articles from other sites and manufacturer documentation. Jupiter has the resources to hirer technical writes, and technical columnists that can contribute fresh new ideas, and this should be looked upon as a great thing to people who think the content here is already good. As it should only be improved.

Limiting the effects of the AP system is also a great idea, get back to being more of a moderator based forum as those are usually much less influenced by the masses. The ability of "gangs" of users to beat up on other members is a major problem, and needs to be corrected pretty quickly. The site has lost way to many subscribers who could have been a major asset because of the antics of some members here.

and the site is horribly slow, I welcome anything that can speed it up a bit.

I agree with you, souleman, I don't think Jupiter Media spent the money they did just to run AO into the ground. I'm content to be patient during the necessary changes. My main concern is AO forum content.

And you do that by making it a great place to learn and to solve problems. Everything we will do is intended to strengthen those qualities.
Jupman, I would hate to see this board become overrun by skiddies. Not having to wade through (too much) BS is one of the best things about this site. Not that anyone asked, but that's my opinion.

I know I find it too slow. I think it's a testament to how strong the community is that they've kept coming here even as the pages take so long to load.
Too slow? I'm in France with a little 56k connection and I wait usually only 5 seconds to receive completely a page like this one (if we except when the pictures don't want to be correctly downloaded, an old cyclic problem here).
I don't want to be disrespectful with someone I don't know but, are you sure that your connection is really good? As you are an administrator I assume it should be the case.

Oh, and, as everybody has already said (yes, I know, I'm often late): "Welcome on AntiOnline JupMan & Gus"

Been a while since last i wrote something on the board. Proabably a few months, I don't know. But I wouldn't miss the chance to say a big 'Hi & Welcome' to the new owners! Hope you find AntiOnline worth the purchase, and maybe you can even improve the site further. Thanks and good luck!
