We can agree to disagree when it comes to politics. And I let StreetRunner know that just because a particular post or thread offends me doesn't mean that I want some knight-in-newbie-armor running in to save the day. I, for one, know whow to close a web browser if I see something I don't like... I know moderators are human, I just know humans can do better than they do. It's no excuse to be human, it's a responsibility.

Anyway, my rant is over. I hope some of the moderators can learn from this and be a little bit more wise. Doesn't sound like it, though.

I was the Moderator who deleted the thread and I wasn't being "selective" when I deleted it. If my action seemed selective it is only because I obviously can't read all the posts. I deleted that particular thread when I came across it because of its offensive anti-German content and I would have done the same if it were anti-American, anti-French or Anti-Fill-In-The-Nationality.

Thank god. You saved me just in time. I was just about to run out and start beating Germans down in the street. Had you not acted so swiftly and decisively, many krauts would surely have been beaten purple by now.

Moderators are supposed to filter obscene and annoying content like adds and make sure posts are posted to the right place and in line with the rules of the forum. Do your job. The post was clearly a joke. It said that in the first line. Just because you have no sense of humour shouldn't mean we all have to suffer. Anti-online is a democracy...I think.

i notice the old moderators were selected because they were old timers and people seemed to look up to them and respect them .... it doesnt seem to be the case anymore judging by the ap's some of them have

i agree with korpdeath this place is nothing without its members, its not the admin or owners who make this site what it is or as good as it is its the members

the members are the ones who respond and answer to the others, we help each other out and do pretty much everything without anything to do with the admin or owners

This is the second time I've viewed this thread. The first viewing ended on Page 2 with MsMittens posting the link to the "German History" breakdown from what looks like an on-line war games board.

I'm just curious how many of you actually began reading the replies that were written on that site? You quickly get a feel for the anger that is building from post to post. I realize this has nothing to do with the topic at hand, but I urge you to take some time and see what is being said from other people on other sites with other interests.

The internet, to me, is a tool which allowed people from around the world to come together and share thoughts and ideas. It is now also showing me how quickly we are falling apart.

ok firestarter5 i went and read the posts that followed the "german history facts" and it became obvious very quickly that they were not of the quality that you would find here on AO. this is not your average site and by deleting it our moderator said that he thought we were too immature to handle a topic like this with out making him look bad. this is not a gaming site. weve got some very sharp minds here.

Seriously though, it's a shame that some members are starting to feel like that. Moby may only have been new here (and had some strange political beliefs... ) but he came across as rather intelligent. It's these kind of members that the site benefits from.....
