I voted to get rid of APs when that poll came up, because the pros simply do not outweigh the cons, especially if you have a bunch of decent moderators. And your points about censorship are right on the money. But while they're still here, people will have to deal with them. The same way people have to deal with ops on IRC kickbanning them.
