Thread: Be cautious with XP patches!!!

Why is that you have a "Mr. Know It All" attitude in almost every thread you post to?
I am not your so call "Mr. Know It All" cos i have tested it myself.Beside that i am involve in several forums beside here and most of them get the same result as me.If i say this is does not affect me only, then i am wrong but so many of them get the same result as me.On the other hand, you must know how to do a manual tweak for your own system to make it run faster and better.

Here is a list of security guide line or tweak which you can found

    Question DOS security

    Considering the construction of DOS...

What always bothered me were the 'TSR's..."Terminate and Stay Resident"s. I may not be an issue to today's remote access hackers, but with local access....

Any thoughts?...or am I way off in my thinking about this?

I wouln't seguest dowloading any SerialPacks if you downloaded WinXP
I think with ServicePack 1 they can see whether you downloaded it or brought it
but im not 100% sure.....Thats why i don't download any ServicePacks
Better update tour WinXP file by file.....to be sure what you are updating

Yea you really have to be careful when installing those patches. I have quit updating windows due to my last 2 updating experiences. Seems after installing updates the last 2 times i updated my computer would linger on the xp startup image screen and never get into windows. The only way i could get past this was.. (1st time: rebooted around 432423 times then finally after letting it sit for 3 hours it posted)(2nd time: restarted and booted into windows via safemode and let it sit for about 25 mins then restarted twice and bam got in.)
