linux partitions in windows

Totally different idea: Get a ext2 filesystem driver for Windows. AFAIK, there are some free (read-only) ones out there.

If you use Reiserfs or xfs you've got a problem though. Ext3 is ok, because as long as it's read-only, it's the same as ext2.

Of course, like the ntfs driver for Linux, the ext2 driver for Windows bypasses the permissions

I failed to mention in my post that It wasn't specificly what he was after.. sry..
still can't find where I had read about being able to Mount a "linux" partition/drive in Windoze..
now that is what we after.. I should have had more sleep over the las weekend.. but Il2 is bloody cruel flight sim..

Get partition magic. Partition magic can read and write linux ext2 and ext3 partitions, so you could use that to transfer files between your OS's

I've succesfuly transfer files (bins and txt) using the Mandrake Control Center, MOunt points and mounting the NTFS partition. The only thing is that only root can write on the NTFS, dont now why but it works. i used to launch konqueror while i'm root so i can use the graphical browser to copy the files.

I've been using explore2fs for a while and it works flawlessly. It gives you an explorer like interface which allows you to drag and drop files between partitions. http://uranus.it.swin.edu.au/~jn/linux/explore2fs.htm

and yes cgkanchi i tried explore2fs and this new rea;se of theris works very fine it exports whole directories including binary and data file safely..............
