Forging email
Hey all, I'm new to AO, and it looks great. I was just wandering if someone could explain to me how to forge email? There's a way to do it with telnet right? It would sound pretty reasonable to connect to a smtp server... but I don't know very much being a newb and all. Well thanks for any help.

Well. . . . um. . . . . errrrr. . . . never mind. I don't have the heart to do it. I'll let someone else.

I hope you can give a VERY good reason for doing that, or the negs and flames will start flying. Everyone else, give him ten minutes - for the amusement of the reply at least.
EDIT: As seen below, sometimes improperly asked questions CAN have a more legitimate intent than may be inferred. Unfortunately, I do not currently know the answer to the question and shall not reply further.
Preliminary operational tests were inconclusive (the dang thing blew up)

Oh, sorry. I didn't realize it was offensive... But if you guys want me reason for doing it, it's becaus e my friends and I screw around with eachother all the time, yesterday someone put a keylogger onto my computer when he was over at my house, so I want to send him so mail... Pretty harmless war games (We do give each other permission...) Don't post if you're going to flame, because I didn't realize you found the idea offensive. Sorry

Seems he isn't going to respond that quick. Ok. . here goes. . . .
#1. Your very first post on an "Anti" hacking website is a question on how to forge e-mails? Not a wise choice.
#2. Going by your second post (which I like. . . because it shows you care about your future and career) you are young. . . and have a lot of knowledge to gain. This is the perfect place to do that. Welcome to AO. But be warned. . . . dont go down the wrong path and become another MafiaBoy. lol. Stick to the legit stuff. Hacker wargames and **** like that. Things that wont land you in prison with Bubba as a cell mate.

Because your crapy questions like this aren't very welcome here. Please delete this thread before you are neged to death & then banned.

First of all R.S. I never neged him. I told him exactly where to get his info.
Oh and you wanna talk about me? Well I never really came to this site & asked how to get myself into trouble, when I was new I was neged a few times for posting in the wrong thread and there were no senior members around to save me either, & I had to meet good peaple & make good posts to seem atleast slightly respectable around here.

I think a highly overlooked site when people require help is HowStuffWorks.com... this site is incredible....
I'm assuming you want to learn... so it's prolly the best read for ya, it doesn't just show you how to do it.. it explains how email works and finishes of with examples of how the servers respond and the commands they accept.
