    Question Partitioning NTFS

    Anyone of the immortal gurus know how to partition an NTFS drive without reformatting? I want to install linux for a buddy but I seem to have hit a snag. Thanks.

    To do it for free:

    Get hold of/download a knoppix CD and boot from it. (www.knoppix.org)

    Then use parted to allter the partitions.

    Parted is a bit arcane, but not too bad.

    type 'man parted' for instructions
