    svchost.exe - What is?

    I have been wondering what svchost.exe it because I have usually 3-4 instances of it running at any given time on my Win 2k computer. I looked it up on the microsoft website but the site was unhelpful so if anyone could inform me I would appreciate it.

    svchost.exe is a process performed by windows. it is totaly normal for more than one to be running at a time, infact if two or more wernt running that would be bad!
