problem with NmapWIN

i'm trying using Nmap for windows ver1.3.1 with winpcap 2.3.
but looks like nmap can't to scan any address. eg:
nmap -sS -P0 -O -T 3 yahoo.com. if -PT -PI used then :

Starting nmap V. 3.00 ( www.insecure.org/nmap )
Note: Host seems down. If it is really up, but blocking our ping probes, try -P0

is there any wrong with the oprtion that is used. i had used it before on linux and it works with the option. im using winxp sp1

this may sound really dumb, but add a www in front of yahoo.com. Sometimes nmap doesn't like recieving just part of the address... I remember having that same problem. If not that, try using the front end: nmapfe

for shits and grins... get a hold of the GUI version of it, it's avaliable for download on their webpage... see if that clears it up

well they have a command line one for windows, run through DOS... and you posted it with that type of command... i'm lookin for a solution for ya as we speak

If you install the GUI versionof Nmap you can also run nmap from the command prompt.

I installed Nmap (GUI) for windows and am having the same problems.

I've tried using the GUI, and the command prompt. I can't scan anything including my own network.

NMAP for windows is a buggy POS. I would suggest installing cygwin (basically a virtual linux installation on a windows box) and then use the *nix version of NMAP.

If you still want to use NMAP for windows, the first thing I'd do is get a newer (3.x) version of WinPCap. It would be better for sniffers and other network tools too.

i have both version. GUI and text mode.
i had tried the winpcap 3.0 and 2.3, still doesn't works.
the best way is rm -fr NmapWin. ...... linux ver. can easily scan for localhost while nmapwin "doesn't work on local loopback
