With the increased use of remote terminals over the past few years, the possibilility of unauthorised access has increased
It has been said that if a person knows enough about a system he can always beat it. This comment has been proved true many times in the past of computer systems whereby manipulation of a program by by-passing procedures within the system, or by the inclusion of unauthorised data, major frauds have been perpetrated
So what , you may ask. These quotes were taken from a book called Further Computer Appreciation, By T.F . Fry, published by Newnes-Butterworth in 1970
Note no mention of virus, worms etc.
Could the above quotes be just as relevant today as they were back then? And yes I do remember punch cards.
