Thread: I'm speechless

Regardless of what the Quran teaches, or how they feel about the events of Sep. 11, they are still people, and deserve to be shown the same respect for life that every human on this planet should get.

Smashing a plane into their building will not solve anything, and will most likely instigate MORE attacks.

As Gandhi said, "An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind"

The Quran and a human being are two seperate things. I am referring to the Quaran, not necessarily any particular race. Obviously the majority of middle easterners are mostly muslim, but that's beside the point. Your right, people are people.

In the Christian bible, it says believers are never to be "yoked" with non-believers, I can't be arsed to look it up, but I believe you'll find it in Romans somewhere. And check out a few of the "dirty Gentile" comments made in the old Testament. Right up the same alley.

And has anyone seen Pat Robertson lately? Anyone remember the "gays are getting what they deserve" comments about AIDS? Anyone remember what a racist bigot (yes, I know it's redundant, but I couldn't think of anything else to call him that wasn't a curse word) he is? And he's on TV, with his own news/advice/talk show. Makes me wanna puke.

I live in a community w/ a surprisingly large number of Arabs, given my location. They are the most decent people you could ever hope to meet. They are kind, they love their children just like we do, they work just like we do, they want what we want. Their holy book teaches no more violence than the christian bible does. Let's not be selective when criticizing religions. Go thru the old testament sometime and read the number of wars that the christian god ordered fought on his behalf against anyone who worshipped someone else.
Outside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

    debwalin:

    1 Corinthians 7:12-16 (ESV)
To the rest I say (I, not the Lord) that if any brother has a wife who is an unbeliever, and she consents to live with him, he should not divorce her. If any woman has a husband who is an unbeliever, and he consents to live with her, she should not divorce him. For the unbelieving husband is made holy because of his wife, and the unbelieving wife is made holy because of her husband. Otherwise your children would be unclean, but as it is, they are holy. But if the unbelieving partner separates, let it be so. In such cases the brother or sister is not enslaved. God has called you to peace. Wife, how do you know whether you will save your husband? Husband, how do you know whether you will save your wife?

Yes debwalin, there are some arabs out there that are very nice people. I don't mind being around arabs, blacks, chinesse, or anybody for that matter, but if I'm around someone who praises 19 terrorists for killing a bunch of innocent men, children, and women, for their cause then I have a problem being around them.

I personally think that this conference should be revoked and not allowed to happen. I know then that people will start saying, your violating my right to free speech, but what would you Englanders think if someone blew up a bunch of builldings in Downtown London, then wanted to celebrate next year calling the people who did it "heroes".?

Then they should be allowed to celebrate. When the government takes away the right of one person to express him/herself, then the rights of everyone else soon follows

What about putting them in jail for a night or two.

I have a feeling people would'nt take to me if i was in charge.

I dont agree with US policy but this is terrible.

I hope you guys who live nearby will be protesting at these meetings to show your frustration and feelings about these 'events'.

Two years since Sept 11th, its mad how time passes, a real tradegy.

True, so all the more reason for you guys to express your own opinions!

I was going to say ban the conference but.... devilmech is right... however much I dislike to say it, these people do have the right to express their opinions and we shouldn't take that away until they commit a criminal act. Just so long as I can express mine too.... Ennis assuming all goes well I shall be there expressing my opinions

Cheyenne.... I know MI5, Scotland yard and the local authorities are keeping a close eye on these events... I think the reason they have not banned them from going ahead yet is so that they can gather information on sympathisers.

PS the conferences are being staggered by the look of things, the one in Birmingham is taking place on Sept 12th and ...errr.... if anyone's interested this is the website of the group organising the events
