Can not get system properties

Hi

I am having a problem with windows xp (home).When i right click on my computer icon and try to open properties it will not open.If i go in from control panel and try to open system it still will not open. Any help......?.

Is this the only problem you're having or are you seeing this showing up when you are going about other tasks too?

Is this a networked computer? or have you played around with security policies on it?

I had this problem once, and what happened was I forgot to change my policy that disbaled the the system properties box back to beng not configured.

Go to start --> run--> gpedit.msc

Under Computer Configuration or User Configuration, click on Administrative templates. Then you'll have to scroll through each one of those folders making sure everything says "not configured"

Does Win + Pause / Break open it for you?
