One thing you could always do , is buy a $50 linksys router have that hooked to your cable modem then have your PC's hooked to the router. That way, none of you PC's actually have an public IP on the net. I spent an extra $20 and bought a firewalled router which does a great job. I never get any alerts or anything anymore.

Ill try one..if not all of those ideas...specialist..you said suting about the firewall..i think....but it was helpfull....you all get imaginary green AOpoints

Yea if your topology is like the ones described above you should be ok..
Here is my topology..
\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\
Cable Modem > NE 4 port router running NAT > 192.168.1.100 > 192.168.1.101
the 192.168.*.* machines being my private machines...

Well this is all good I think ur PC is all good & protected... just keep everything up2date... on a weekly basis or dayly if u can..... the more the better
