(this is an Idea)
Well, if I were you, I would do internet search to Find all info and Websites that deal with EMarketing.
The best search engines that I would use would be google.com and altavista.com, but of course there are others that are specificly made for this sort of thing but im not the marketing Expert so you should just go do a web S & S (surf & Search) and if you had a mean high school teacher you could use cornell and/or cliff notes to help gather and organize info.
Sorry that I cant give you the answer but I hope I Gave You an Idea to solve this ? and future Q's

Surely if you are studying this subject, as a business student, you will have notes from lectures, have been given handouts, or have some point of reference from where you can start to answer the question. I would suggest that you have a look round some of the University web sites, concentrating on the Business Studies, and Marketing faculties, and you may find what you are looking for, or as sumdumguy suggested "Google"
Why can't you ask your lecturer for help?

Go hit a few of those websites that send out e-greeting cards and send yourself a few...that'll get your email on most of the spam databases in the civilized world. Then either reply to those spams or use the opt out link...that'll get you on any of the spam lists that missed you the first time.
PRESTO!!!
Now you have PLENTY of emarketing material to study.

Hi John,
Firstly this is not my field, and secondly I live a very long way away from you, but I thought a few international examples might help your studies.
http://www.dabs.com (A UK computer "everything" store)
http://www.crucial.com.uk (A UK specialist memory supplier)
Just have a look at their sites and see what they do.
Dabs give "Dabspoints" with every purchase. You get to spend these instore (similar concept to airmiles?)
Crucial have a very fancy tool for selecting the right memory. If you use it they will give you a no cost refund/ replacement if it turns out to be the wrong item. Also they give free shipping if you order online rather than by phone.
You might also look at the European ISP called Tiscali. If you use their service during the month you can order up to two "free" gifts for the cost of the postage. That is up to $100 worth of CD/DVD/Videos for $5. Obviously these are "end of range" bargains that they have bulk purchased. The "incentive" is to get you to use their online ISP service.
I would suggest that you check out some big online stores in other parts of the World, to see what they do.
Also, do a Google search for "online marketing services" and similar phrases. There are companies out there who sell their expertise providing these schemes to retailers. They will usually have a few case studies on their site and a list of major customers.
Check the major customers online sites to see what they have done.
Beware of the BS though........these guys are selling not teaching
Good Luck

Hi JohnHACK ,
the whole point of tutorial is for you to learn how to retrieve information, process it and come out with your conclusion. The best way is to try out some of the sites suggested above. If we give you the answer, then it pointless for you to go to college.
as mentioned google is a good place to start. If you have queries about your conclusion then post it here and we can suggest our opion.
Good luck
