RoadClosed... anytime... let me know when you're in town
bballad....firstly lets get this right, there has been no empire for donkeys years I'm not that stupid.... neither am I one of those misty eyed English people that dream of better days during the Empire - my argument with you has absolutely nothing to do with the old empire anyway - it's more about your attitude towards people who are, perhaps wrongly, your friends
Influence is not restricted to military might - once you pull your head out of the ground you might recognise that. A country (whether its the UK or any other) cannot be said to be irrelevant if it still has political or economic influence. Economically the UK currently has one of the strongest positions in Europe and I think the latest figures show that the UK is amongst the top 5 richest nations in the world - which I wouldn't say was totally irrelevant.
Also you should keep in mind that currently the UK is one of your strongest political supporters in Europe (especially w.r.t the war on terrorism) - you seem to quickly forget how our own PM went around doing the diplomatic effort on behalf of America because Bush probably isn't capable of doing it that well. I'm not going into whether Blair should have done that or not, the fact is he did and the fact is that America had a lot more support in Europe than you would otherwise have done for going into Iraq for example. Now if you're going to tell me that kind of political influence is irrelevant then you are far more naive than I ever thought.
Coming back to Empires for a second... if America wants to be the next Empire... it isn't all a bed of roses you know - you have to take responsibility for your actions and you have to clean up the mess you leave behind - the UK didn't do such a great job of that so don't make the same mistake as we did

So starting wars, pissing off the world, giving tax cuts to your buddies (rich people) and ditching millitary service is much better? *cough* Bush *cough* Clintons personal life should not be an impeachable offense. Nor should anyone give a sh!te about his personal life.

So you would rather not defend America and fight terror??
Since when has the world loved America? Wake up dude, we're not here to be friends with the rest of the world, we are here to defend freedom and the rights of human beings! Can't just leave people like Saddam in power you know?!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Clinton dodge the draft??

That's true, but perjury is an impeachable offense.

No, but maybe we should think about why we have pissed off so many countries. Why we funded Oslama Bin Laden and then dumped him. Maybe think where has getting into all these wars taken us? Maybe think of what George Bush Sr. said during the Persian Gulf War to the effect of (and I am searching for the exact quote) "one nation cannot stand against the will of the entire world." That kind of hit me one day when I was thinking about this whole subject. We cannot just keep defying the world if we want to make something of the human species as a whole.
Since when has the world loved America? Wake up dude, we're not here to be friends with the rest of the world, we are here to defend freedom and the rights of human beings! Can't just leave people like Saddam in power you know?!
Since when has the world had the chance to love America? We have our hands in so many things (good and bad) around the world that we are always going to piss off a lot of people. We cannot live by this "might makes right" philosophy if we are ever going to make it as a race.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Clinton dodge the draft??

Still looking for more info on this subject.

I would like nothing more then to have bush fight terroeism. insted he is chaseing after oil, destabelizing regions and increasing the area that terrorist organizations can operat in (alqiuda was not in iraq before the war, now there opratives are pouring in.) And if we can't leave "evil" men in power why are we allied with the monster in ubecistan?
AAs for your second point...no Clinton joind the reserves, same thing Bush did, in fact in recent years the only folks running for president that actualy served in the military where Gore and McCain.
Who is more trustworthy then all of the gurus or Buddha’s?

Since when has the world had the chance to love America?
Dude, you just don't get it do you? They will never love us, they hate us, and not for the right reasons either. Europe is mostly just jealous and the Muslims (radicals) hate just about anyone. We can plainly see they're killing not only fellow Muslims but people from many other nations as well. They really don't care what nationality you are.
We have our hands in so many things (good and bad) around the world that we are always going to piss off a lot of people. We cannot live by this "might makes right" philosophy if we are ever going to make it as a race.
That's right, we do a ton of good, everyone casually skips over the fact that we donate and contribute more humanitarian aid than any other nation on a consistent basis, among a throng of other good deeds. Sounds like you coined that "might makes right" in your own head dude, never crossed my mind for a minute.
Still looking for more info on this subject.
Don't bother searching for specifics on the impeachment thing, there is no specific thing that can get one impeached. You only need like a 2/3 majority to impeach a president, if my memory serves me correctly that is. But Clinton did indeed dodge the draft, which is a fact.

I totally agree Corporate CEOs and officers along with all the managers and supervisors should be able to f@ck secretaries and subordinates without consequence. That's cool by me, I have dozens of little hotties working below me but I am kept at bay by this particular corporate culture. Clinton set the example for all of us! He's my man. Ok I am being sarcastic, I am not really stalking all the hotties, I mean, coworkers below my management level. I learned a long time ago that you better be careful dipping the pen in company ink. Clinton should have known that sh!t, he's the friggin presisdent for G sake and **** man, pick some good looking woman! Choke. I mean Hilary is hotter than all of them.
We definitely used poor Judgment in funding Osama, the Soviet Union did over run a little country (out of no where) so we felt the need to help. Personally I don't point fingers. Osama is not Bush's fault. Osama is Bush's current problem and he is trying to do something about it. Osama was also a thorn in Clinton’s administration; he too tried to do something about it out of the public eye. People can't handle what Bush is trying to do for one major reason: He's republican. BAD MAN! God fearing Redneck daddy boy. I don't think America as a whole even looks at issues or the future anymore.
You do realize the Al Q, is a large organization? Their main communication network has been destroyed. Communication with cells is an issue for them so Osama issued a statement which was eagerly broadcast all over the planet (thanks guys) for each cell to operate autonomous without input from superiors. Think of all those out there just itching to meet Allah! It's a quick and easy way to paradise, you know. In the Muslim world, Jesus just doesn't wave a hand and save your soul - you have to earn it and work hard at it. OR kill a bunch of Americans or Italians or UN people there to help your people or attack and kill red cross workers in what meets the requirements for holy war. Then your safe having done a great deed of murder in the name of God.
Autonomous cells operating on their own.

Europe is jealous? Jealous of what? Yeah, we are a superpower in the world, but I dont think Europe in general are jealous of Americans. Muslim extremists might hate us now, but what do you think invading two Middle Eastern countries will do for our popularity in the Middle East? I am sure that extremist groups got a lot of new recruits the day we enter Afganistan and Iraq.

A ton of good, but more bad. Look at Vietnam. Look at Korea. Look at Somalia. We were so scared of this threat of Communism that we fought wars and we wonder why their people hate us.

I like to do some research into my opinions, so I am going to do some impeachment research.
As far as draft dodging goes, there are many people in government that have dodged the draft. (Not just Clinton) Check this site out:
