actually the dumster diving would work at my job, and social engineering would def. work agaitns the new reseptionists that we got. THe fact that the admins are all one state away and there's no local admins for the systems worries me significantly and often considered to offer my services to them. Also the fact that they use the xtremely common "last name first initial" for username and password, is ridiculously worrysome and the fact that everyone has the same setup for their username and password. I've considered making a social engineering call to my workplace, log the time and write a detailed report and fax it to the system administrator, but dont want to get fired yet. Also, no1 is trained to recognize any kind of attacks on their systems, or social engineering so my workplace is pretty much filled with mindless zombies. To make a long story short, you could be working in a place like this and want to do something about it but cant and it frustrates the hell out of you because you're 20 years old and no1 wants to listen to you...until its too late.
Just a few cents.
cheers
p.s. yes they "have" paper shredders right next to the copier but there's a huge trash barrel right next to it too. People often choose the barrel instead of the slow, noisy paper shredder LOL. No wonder these people get attacked. Also, i wouldn't be surprised if there was crackers all over the place searching for dumpsters to dive in since I work in an industrial area. Good thing its very stinking cold right now so no diving for them crackers yet
another P.S. Great thread buddy, Really appreciate the information . Thank you.
