If you compare software to other commercial products one has to ask why there aren't any recalls, lawsuits etc, etc. I know the EULA pretty much throws it all back on the user. If other industries modelled this how long do you suppose car manufacturers would get away with it?

A rebuttal from a Windows Terrorist Freak well worth a read, its articulate and comprehensive.

Well yes Windows is ok but its probably something you will never convince the many people of. There are way to many Linux heads out there that can give you enough reasons to switch, it really depends on your own needs rather than which one is better overall.

M$ is a big target for hackers to attack. There security low against the average, but it's OVER attacked and thats why it apprears that a 2 yr old can break it...
however, i also agree, that they should produce better products for less money...
if you go buy the Win XP Pro Platinum edition, you get pretty decent security, the problem is that M$ wants you to pay all that extra money for security messures that are now quite STANDARD.
