How can a classroom be "a safe haven for the free exchange of ideas" if, when in disagreement with a teacher, you cannot state your opinion without causing a "federal civil rights investigation"? It's a little ridiculous. People are so worried about not offending others nowadays that these sorts of issues pop up. And I can't see how saying you are "disgusted by homsexuality" can be translated into a violent statement. He didn't stand up in front of the class saying "I want to whip out an AK47 and slaughter every single homosexual man on this planet" (at least I hope he didn't )

But then again, Ms. Crystall is an English teacher, and in my experience I've found most to be slightly biased, to put it lightly
