Alright Gore and HT.....just quit that right now. I am trying to maintain a bad mood and you guys making me laugh doesn't help a thing. I can't even get the proper whine across in the new thread I was starting....you know the one where I was going to tell you all that your not appreciating my age and wisdom, and of course my great expertise in everything.
Seriously though, yes SwordFish_13 ap's are misused. They are given because someone likes the answer given, and not for the content. They are given for the humor value, and the entertainment value of the answer. And yes, some of us very seldom ever neg anyone else. If you want a perfect system, then climb into a good work of fiction because you will not find such in real life.
Not too long ago, a senior member was negged by another senior, for an answer he gave. It was a hit that you would not want, believe me. The senior who received the negs, took it in the manner it was given, as a wakeup call, and reconsidered his behavior, and modified it accordingly. My respect for both of them was increased. So it does happen.
Most of us (and I know, I shouldn't generalize) don't really care that much about ap's, but I do care and read the comments that come with them. I, personally, miss the days when I could use ap's for making comments about a persons post without changing their point total (as some do care about this). And yes some perfectly irrelevant posts do gain ap's, but in my case, I can't give positives to every good post MsMittens makes, because it will tell me I have to spread them around first. (just a case in point, but a very good one) So I give them ap's in the next post I can (as long as it is not completely irrelevent).
If you don't like the system, then you have two (2) choices. Leave and find a forum you can live with, or stay and work from within to change this one to be like you wish it to be.
