The Arabs have a long history of violence. Honestly, do you feel unsafe walking down the street in a jewish neighborhood? Is Israel blowing up metro trains in Toronto?
As a Catholic no. But ask me how safe I felt going into Harlem immediately after a Jewish store got ransacked by locals for being "racist" (news comment not mine). In fact, I feel safe in the Muslim community here as much as I feel safe in the Jewish community here. Now, if I was muslim I don't know how safe I'd feel walking in Israel. Even as a Catholic I wouldn't feel safe. And Israel ain't no saintly nation. It has it's fair share of violence and encouraging violence.
It's takes a big man to stand up to a terrorist. It takes a bigger man to turn their check and walk away.
And while it may be "normal policy" it doesn't have to be status quo. For the longest time it was "normal policy" that whites and blacks in the US not associate with each other. God forbid if a white woman held hands with a black man. Heck, if I was living in the 30s with the relationship I have today (not married but long time living together -- 10 years -- with a chinese man) it'd be a sin and he'd be lynched for touching a white woman.
It is hypocritical of a nation to go around claiming that there are those with WMD who should be disarmed and yet turn a blind eye to those who are not only armed -- very knowingly -- but are willing to use them. I do not think that Sharon has been that far from the proverbial "red button".

Let's remember that Isreal has been reactionary with it's tactics and weaponry. Even during the first Iraq war, Isreal made it clear that it would stay out of the conflict, but also said that if Sadam dropped a chemical weapon on Isreal, then Isreal would nuke Baghdad till it glowed. (Paraphrased). The Jewish and old testament view is not to attack unless retaliation is required, (rule of 3 I think) and once retaliation is necessary then it is carried out 10 fold upon the enemy. I'm not saying this is right, it's just my understanding of Jewish doctrine. Maybe a authenic Jew can step forward and let me know where I got it wrong.
The mentally handicaped are persecuted in this great country, and I say rightfully so! These people are NUTS!!!!

So Rcgreen,
I suppose that means that Sadam would have been left in peace if he was more frendly with the US and it wouldn't have matter whatever else he was doing. The answer is, of course, as that is simply international politics and every country would do and is doing the same. Still it is hypocrisy.

You're afraid of someone because of what country they came from??? You racist bastard. "I'm afraid of people named Habib".
NIN and David B said it best in the song "I'm afraid of Americans".
I'd rather be in a dark alley with Habib than an American.
Pull your head firmly out of your ass, race doesn't mean ****.

The lines between good and evil are drawn as clearly in this
conflict as they have been in any other major war in human history.
We are fighting to save human civilization from total destruction.
The muslims are the enemy. You will have to decide which side
you are on.
During WWII we had to have some allies that we didn't always
trust completely, but we knew who the enemy was.
We armed Soviet Russia because their backs were against
the wall, and no nation deserves to be exterminated
When the Arabs decide to abandon the hope of "liquidating the
jewish entity", then the conflict will be over. Don't hold your breath.
I came in to the world with nothing. I still have most of it.

Umm look look at what are troops are curently doing in iraq, you may want t oredraw the good/evil line. Shooting at ambulances and pregnant women dosn't fall into the good catagory in my book.
Hell look at isrial, kicking someone out of their house at gun point because you like their land dosn't fall into the good catagory (the "settelers" are as much terrorists as Hamas), nor is stoneing women to death that try to pray in public.
When we stop proping up the facist theology in isrial and allow a secular goverment to take over the conflict will end.
Who is more trustworthy then all of the gurus or Buddha’s?

Get real people. It isn't "hypocrisy" that we don't harass our
friends for having weapons of mass destruction.
It's normal policy.

No but they steal our documents and use them to preform state sponsored terrorist actions Endangering my life as a Canadian(nz had this problem just last week). As well as being an apartheid state which i find disgusting. I don't call that friendship
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I don't know if that's true. I have many jewish friends and many muslim friends, and they don't seem to mind each other. In fact, some of my muslim students have even invited me, if I do a bike tour of Persia, to visit their parents and to take me on tours of historical sites in Iran. Personally, this is a generalization. Terrorism is not equal to religion. In fact, many muslim clerics don't approve of terrorist methods.

You're right, no nation deserves to be exterminated, not even the Muslim nations you hate so much. I'm curious as to who made the statement "liquidating the jewish entity" (if I may point out that is the point of view of Israel, and may or may not be the view of all muslims and/or palestenians). To generalize and suggest that all muslims are like Osama or even like Saddam is a gross bastardization of a people who have good beliefs and understandings (not perfect mind you but I've yet to see a man-made religion have any perfect beliefs).
There is no easy answer to this as the particular area that Israel and the Palestinians fight over is a holy area but to paint all muslims as evil is a bit extreme and very, IMHO, narrowminded. Something that the world needs less of these days.
I doubt, rcgreen, that this will change your point of view. You have your views and your beliefs. I have mine. So does every jewish person and every muslim person. Please remember, however, they are human. They are not perfect as you present yourself to be.
