Or if not, bah... stop your whining, without drama, this site sucks. =D

But this is not an entertainment website, it's a security information website. Personally, the drama is nothing but an annoyance when I'm trying to filter through it all to find pertinent info on real security issues. AO is my key research resource as I'm beginning my professional career, so I'd rather read TCP/IP tutorials, get help with my crazy AV logs, and talk about hardening my network defenses rather than playing drama games with bored kiddies. I had enough of the latter in college!

    Hi,

But this is not an entertainment website,
Well, strictly speaking you are quite correct, but I believe that it can be entertaining, which I believe is what MadJag is saying?

I think that the real problems arise when people drift off topic (although I would personally consider that allowable if the thread has basically reached a conclusion), or when they post into the wrong forum, or when they just post irrelevant nonsense?

It is interesting that some forums just don't seem to attract contention?............when did we last have a good street brawl in "hardware" for example

    just my thoughts

Heh heh, good point Nihil, it would be interesting to see a good brawl in hardware.

"I said UPGRADE YOUR RAM you #$^#$$ jerk!"

But yeah, we can have plenty of fun around here without driving each other nuts. Heck, I post some of the stupidest comments of anybody around here.

Don't worry madjag, if you ever get access to the addicts forums, there's lots of fun threads there, mainly acidrain's tech support stories! Priceless...(And I still think we should have the "AcidRain Quote of the Day"...)

It's hard enough fixing a phone via idiot proxy
    Still my favorite acidrain quote.

Don't worry AngelicKnight, he's seen the Addict's Forum.

That's right, I keep forgetting. Still, he hasn't had the great joy of seeing the latest threads. The "Disgruntled IT Professional" thread always livens my day.

I wasnt planning on peeking in there, but now that you say that they're good threads, i gotta go take a look at them !

Well I'm primarily referring to AcidRain's thread. He has a whole thread dedicated to stupid tech support calls he gets from customers, and chronicles his many responses. It's priceless, the man needs his own tv show...He does the things we've always wanted to do but valued our jobs too much to try to get away with it.
