If you got Nvidia you'd have X now, AND be able to play UT in Linux/BSD

Why's that? Slack and FBSD didn't have the 5600/5900 series drivers or the 9600/9800 drivers... Gotta love having friends on both sides of the GPU If I had broadband and didn't have to go through the tedious process of finding modem drivers I probably would of been fine, as I would have used my other box to find a direct link to the ati drivers for *nix and then d/led them directly through lynx... I probably could've figured it out at this point, but back in December I never thought of doing it that way and I have been too busy and lazy to try again. I hate call of duty. Damn addictive games.

Actually, Nvidia has drivers for the cards they make on the website for Linux and Free BSD. You download the .sh, and then install it, and it works. SUSE grabs the drivers for you with YAST Online Update. So yes, you would have drivers if you had Nvidia.

Yea ATi has drivers on their site too, but I didn't have internet. That was my problem. Stupid winmodems.
