Icons next to directory tree in windows explorer (XP)
I recently did a clean install of win xp pro to a formatted hd, and I did some messing around, and I must have changed something relating to icon display in winows explorer. Now when I go to explorer, the icons and all are fine on the right, but the tree on the left is only words, not words and icons like it normally is. Does anyone know how I can fix this? I know it's probably something simple, but it's 2:30 am and I've been working on this computer all day and can't think what it might be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thats a good one!!
Ive been messing around with mine for half an hour and cant seem to find an answer!
You could try another re-install since you have only just done it and therefore wont lose much data?

Well I did a repair install and it didn't work, so I'm thinking I might just format again and try a clean install...unless anyone else has any ideas... lol
I was thinking...isn't this in the registry somwhere?

Its certainly the type of thing that is stored in the registary.
You could try "regedit" then press CTL + F and search for windows explorer, all you have to do is press F3 and I will take you through the registary stopping at every entry that has explorer in its path.
Just look for something that doesnt look right or mentions icons I suppose!

I gave up, there were some other things which were messed up as well, so I just did a format and reinstall.
