First off, are you sure the https pages you want exist as https (SSL)? IF so, go back to your IE settings, and load the 'default' settings, then change em again to your likings one by one, trying in between if the SSL does work or not. Be sure to try it on a site where the SSL is enabled. Hope this helps you.
