    It is just a function. You just need to find the function f(x). You just need to make sure f(1) through f(4) correspond to what they then have to know you have the correct function. Then enter 5 into the function, and you get the answer.

    all the numbers in the given functions add up to 49 but i dont see a pattern to predict the next sequence equaling 49. there are many possibilities but the function, im assuming, must follow a rule

    Nice job Soda. I also got a bunch of negs about calling him a retard . I feel fully justified in saying that. You start using 'F of X' notation AND terminology in basic algebra.

    I just took basic Algebra and I can almost guarantee that half of the class doesn't know what f(x) means.
