What kind of game are we talking here? If you're at the stage where you don't know what game developers use, I'm assuming we're not talking FPS? Give me more specifics and may be I can help you out. J, you gonna post here or not?

Actually we haven't specify what type of game the developer will create in the scenario. So just assume any games... For example what the developer will use to create those graphic and audio...

OK, so, all you have to do is find out what software is used, but not actually write a game yourself? In that case...
Programming Language - Usually some form of C or C++. If the game is targetted at Windows, Microsoft Visual C++ or Borland C++ Builder.
Other API's - DirectX and OpenGL
3D Modeling tool - 3D Studio Max

Thank for the replies, but I will like to know more software a game developer would use and I will need to find out the system/hardware requirements for those applications.

I suggest you use google to find some game programming forums. There are a lot of good ones out there. A good place to start might be http://crystal.sourceforge.net .

Just a point. People have mentioned 3d modelling software (3d studio max), but when you are developing games, you also need some sort of image creation/manipulation software. At the moment, I believe that jasc Paintshop Pro is the preferred image software. I also know that many people enjoy using the gimp (probably because it's free ) and it has quite a good reputation.
Another piece of 3d modelling software that game developers use is Chumbalum Soft's Milkshape 3d. I know from personal experience that Milkshape is a well designed, powerful piece of software that allows you to model and animate in 3d.
I'm sorry but I can't help you with the audio side of things.
Another point to make is that there are many different types of games. For example, a lot of games are made to be embedded in websites. They are generally written in java (java applets) or using Macromedia Shockwave Flash as far as I know. These games are quite interesting as you generally don't have to download or install anything (or if you do, it's usually done transparently) because they will run off the webpage that you are playing them on.
For examples of these games, visit http://www.newgrounds.com or search for java applet games on google.
Here are some links to programs that I mentioned:
Hope that helped,
