Zip disk
Just brought a zip drive recently for school works and I am thinking of using it for backups. My question is that is the zip disk reliable? how long will a zip disk last? Thanks in advance.

Don't know how accurate this info is anymore but here's a little something I remebered reading a while back about ZIP drives. I searched google for aminute or two on the click of death and came up with a few things to. I'm tired right now so I'll dig into it a little more tomorrow.

My personal experiences:
I have 4 Zip100 (internal) drives and 2 LS 120 Drives (1 internal, 1external), they are all 5+ years old, and I have not had any problems.
Muert0 has pointed you to Steve Gibson's website..................he does a nice little free tool for checking zip drives, I can recommend that if only for peace of mind.
My only other comment is that Zip drives are rather old technology, most people are using CD RW or even DVD RW these days. The CD drives are very cheap now.
Cheers

I have CD-RW drive but my school don't have it... so have to get a zip drive. I have tried the utility from Steve Gibson's website and it seem don't like my zip disk :P It gives errors all the way...

What errors are you getting?
Can you post a .txt file of what you get?
Cheers
