Sorry, I havn't been around much lately as I have just bought a new home and am still in the process of moving in.
You are not being a turd d00d. I myself thought of this very theory. We (myself and the building owner) After taking this original avi I sent in we put the cam on a 24 hour video recorder and spent a lot of time scanning the tapes. This effect surely would have been recreated at least one more time, don't you think? After close scrutiny and much testing of the video we seem to agree that it appears more like a solid object with a reflective surface. The red color at the beginning of the clip could possibly coming from the cam itself, the cam is mounted in a dark corner of the store pointing below the light source (a 10 foot flourescent ligtht apx 15 feet from the floor) there is a red LED on the front of the cam. As the orb enters the light it begins to change color to white. I also seems to correct its course after moving into the light (there is a heater vent at floor level that blows a very strong breeze in that direction) if the object has mass it may have had its course altered by the breeze, and has some sort of "purpose" it may have had to correct its course (look at the vid) then as it leaves the lighted area it seems to get dimmer as it passes in front of a wall then disappears behind a solid wall (see vid). Imagine a chrome sphere, would it not reflect light back to a cam lens in such a fashion?
As for theory 2, see above...
Sorry I am out of time, I will respond to other posters ASAP.

I hate to be a turd.
From examining the video closely the entity is entirely comprised of light.
The magnitude of the light is similar to that of a laser pointer but not that intense.
Its shape also varies a little to much for it to be the same. (Glass Refraction)
At the rear of the image when it appears to be changing direction it infact still appears visibly brighter than the surrounding objects.
Theory 1. Does the shop have a window near a street where cars are likely to be driving ?
The angles of reflection could be true with a concave window and the sharp jerk in the middle could be when it splits between panes ?
Theory 2. AEAllison infact knows the cause but none the less has a kewl orbing video.
I have a question; are you the bug, or the windshield?
