Hi,
In answer to your question................grc.com is a respectable site in my opinion. Steve Gibson may be somewhat paranoid, but he knows his stuff, and is certainly a "good guy"
I would not worry about stuff from his site.

Steve realy knows his stuff.
Man, it realy takes time to write windows app (windowed one !!!) in pure Assembly.
I know, because long time ago I tried some assembly on commodore 64. It was so time consuming that I never tried it on PC.
There are a lot of other good stuff on his site.. I use shealds UP from time to time to test my firewall... and spinrite... well, if you realy have some important data on HDD that has bad sectors, it will help.. most of the time.
