automatically close thread
Ennis made this clear today .. what if after 6 months or so (doesnt matter how long we chooe) of a thread not being posted into it gets automatically closed. This would prevent old and obsolete posts being brought back up.
This has probably been suggested somewhere before.

The only problem I can think of is what if some thread has relevance 6 months from now? It's happened before with security related threads, and I can remember the thread in addicts where you announce yourself to the world (forum) has come up several times after being apparently dead.

I just thought it might be a good way to stop people from giving advice to questions that were asked 2 years ago etc. .. just to get their post count up.. anyway i put the idea forward whether it is like or implemented is open for discussion

well it would make the moderators job easier i suppose plus if they go around closing all the old, unused threads that post whores would bring back up to get posts they would be pretty busy ..
