It is my computer, and that was the only account I ever used. And the only other Administrative account I own, I havent used in over a year. So it is very likely that after not using it for so long you may forget the password. I do have two other accounts I can open though, but they arent administrative.

As for the Changing of the password, I know many people who have had this happen to them before, but their to lazy to do what im doing and they just reinstall. I on the other hand really need a certain file on that account, I cannot lose it therefore I must find a way to get into it.

You wanna know any more info on my computer to ensure its mine then PM me. Does this sound fishy to anyone else?

There are some paranoid people here Timothy, don't let them get to you. Given Timothy has physical access to the machine I don't think his question is out of order. You have been given a link to a program that will allow you to reset the password (read the instructions carefully). You seem to be having problems creating a bootable CD, as mentioned before check google for burning an ISO image. You might also want to try a bootable floppy. Check out Bootdisk.com

I would try A floppy because Id think it easier, but.... unfortunatly I do not have an A drive on my Notebook. Only a dvd/cd ROM drive.

Affirmative. At least from my p.o.v.

Timothy I suppose you don't have an FTP server running on the computer... I've noticed that even if a folder is hidden to all the other people on a computer [as far as I understand you've restricted access to the files for only the owner of the account] on an FTP connection you can access anything... saved my arse a couple of times when Windows got corrupted, accounts got locked and passwords didn't match anymore.

But I understand your need for the password, if you can recover from this problem without needing to reinstall everything it would be great... since you can keep all your settings, programs and whatnot. Good luck!

The easiest (and free!) way to burn iso's is probably Iso Recorder. Takes a couple of seconds to install, is added to the right-click menu (you just right-click the .iso, and select "Burn image to CD"), and uses the built-in Windows-software to burn. Only works with Windows XP, though, and doesn't seem to work with SP2.

Download the .iso provided by h3r3tic, install Iso Recorder, burn it to a CD, boot from the CD, and in a matter of minutes you'll have your password(s) reset.

The computer im downloading it on(the one im using now) is windows XP, my notebook is a Windows 2000. Will it still work?

Yes it will. You download Iso Recorder on the XP machine, you download the NT Password software on the XP machine, you burn the NT Password software on the XP machine using Iso Recorder.
Then you boot the CD with the 2k machine and you're good to go.

I did as you had suggested, and now I got another problem.
I right clicked the .iso file and hit "burn image to cd"
It begain to record and then said

Recording has failed. Error 80070057

?

What does this mean? And how Am I supposed to burn it if I am doing it wrong?

Timothy: the best option is to contact the author directly with your exact error message...maybe others have experienced the same issue; then try Goooogling for the error message....
