Well, I can see your point, but I use it all the time. And, I like seeing where the guests are. It gives me an idea of where a newbie might be coming from if they register and start asking questions.

Example -- about 1 in 10 of the guests are reading threads about how to hack passwords. About 1 in 25-30 are reading about network security. About 1 in 5 are reading 'Tech Humor'.....and so on. With these numbers in mind, and 3 new people sign up in one day, we will usually get 1-2 tech support questions. ( I know, it doesn't make sense)

You have to also take into account that a lot of these guests are coming from other JupMedia sites that have a direct link into our forums.
It gives me an idea of where a newbie might be coming from if they register and start asking questions.
That statement is false by the way. Most of our new members are either asking a tech support question or a malware type question. And although you will see some guests reading the applicable forums, I don't think they are the ones who are registering to ask questions. They may register to be able to use the search functions though.

    moxnix,

whats the difference... for everything you described to me, the original thread idea would be perfect.. because it says there are this many guests in these locations, instead of a list with guest1 location 1, guest2 location 2. etc

    Anyways was only a thought.

    Thanks for the speedy reply

i only suggest this because its seems pointless
Awesome. Just keep those pointless suggestions a'comin b/c we all greatly appreciate them and they seem to make you so much more popular. Actually they piss people off. Like me for instance. I'm already pissed. Considering that I'm usually the first though, this is just a sign that the rest will follow soon if something doesn't change. With all of your trivial suggestions to us lately, I think I am entitled to at least one for you: stop posting stupid sh*t and get a life! Suggestions are good - but learn to pick out which ones are really important and which ones aren't (like this one) before you click on the "submit" button.

thats taken completely out of context. i was meaning its pointless having it the way it is now, thats why i was suggesting a new way.

Anyways, as i said before, im sorry if fresh perspectives see flaws in things you are just used to....
