Why are there so many of these polls doing the rounds on AO at the moment? (especially the Bush vs. Kerry ones). I know there's a big fuss over the elections but please realise that not everyone on AO lives in the States and/or gives a damn about which idiot you choose to go round saying "we're better than everybody else" for the next four years.

Link me? The election is November 2nd, today is September 26th, some 37 days from now is the actual election...

Uhm... making myself known..? Anyone but Bush! (There goes the biased part in your post, btw)
That wasn't meant as a biased opinion.. The Anyone But Bush Party is actually quite strong in the polls and wanker was meant jokingly...

As for pwaring, I don't know about England nor when it's election is? Since a _majority_ of users here are from the United States, a simple post by me wasn't meant to eat away at you, but if it DOES and you feel inclined to make your OPINION known, by all means, start a thread about British politics, but please don't go flaming away in mine.

You know. None of this really means diddley. The only time it will count will be on Nov 2. Until then it's all fluff (especially since people who aren't American can vote here -- although the rumors based on the wonderful online voting security might mean that non-Americans could vote on the 2nd too! )

I was taking a guess.. notice how I said, "is it?" towards the end.

Blah, obviously it was biased. You even voted for Bush in your poll (that I don't care about) and you go ahead and say even the "anyone but bush wankers" make yourselves known. I don't care whether it was a joke or not, you are still biased.

You know. None of this really means diddley
Agreed, considering most of the people in this thread aren't from the U.S and won't vote and ALSO considering the fact that AO's population of total members (94118 @ time of posting) is about 15,000 more people than my CITY has alone. Considering the fact that not every user is active, and that's based on ONE city in the WHOLE U.S? Well.. you get my point

All I can say is Dave got owned by the reds. In cosmos. What's wrong with a biased post anyways? Aren't we all biased when it comes to politics, since there is no "right" answer per se?

A presidential election thread turned to an antipoint bitching session. Typical.

I wouldn't expect you too, given that the date for the next general election hasn't been set yet...

Even if the majority of users are from the US, I'm sure we don't need half a dozen polls on who is going to win the election or yet more Bush vs. Kerry threads.

That's the thing about parlimentary government. You don't know when the next election is but it has to be in a certain time frame. Always found that fascinating along with watching parliment debates in the House of Commons for hours. Only it was John Major and Blair on the front benches yelling it out. Much better than CSPAN.
