JP: blah..I took this seriously until people started making it personal. While I tend to think this thread has a little to do with your ego, I think it has more to do with your suggestions(which I happen to agree with for the most part). by all appearances and the lack of response from the jupiter media rep's I don't think they have taken this seriously. I don't count negative as a rep..he's more of a lackey

Interesting
Interesting to say the least...........
I have been around 'AO' for a little bit, and seen it change considerably. I liked the old 'AO' but then again I like the new 'AO' also......except for the 'AP' bitching.
I would like to see the old 'AO' (underground style) resurrected, but I also feel there is a place for the present 'AO' in all its confusion.
JP, when your non-compete agreement runs out I hope you do resurrect the old 'AO' or at least something similar.
JupMedia, I wish you would do something with the 'AP' system so that the constant bitching about it ceases.
Members, if the content bothers you, or the quality is lacking for you......help change it or live with it.
And Hogfly, welcome as the 'Forinsic Forum Moderator'. I follow the forum, but haven't been able to participate as yet, as I am just learning the basics of the topic.
Thats my humble opinion.

Dearest moderators/owners/administrators...
Please take note of this: This is the kind of environment that you are running. I strongly suggest you deal with this problem. This is pretty much rediculous, and out of line.

Maybe JupiterMedia reps prefer to think and form a well-thought-out opinion before they post, unlike 90% of posters in this thread.
This thread only started today, and went to sh*t right here, only 18 hours later with Quad's post (what a surprise), JP's stupid reply to it (sure, blame JUPM for what you are partially to blame for), whizkid's usual nonsense, YOUR crap, MORE usual Quad-stuff, MORE of YOUR crap.
And Gore: don't make me ban your silly ass because you feel the need again to show off your AntiPoints.

Hey Hey,
I was tempted to neg this thread to see it closed myself.. I'm still considering it.. I originally gave greenies to JP because I think he had some valid points... but I think a lot of this thread is useless and a lot of people who participated in this thread just to shout out agreement and "look cool because they agree with JP" deserve to be negged.. In all honesty I'm surprised this thread hasn't been closed yet when you look at some of the other threads that have been closed in the past... BTW Hog... I generally respect what you have to say in here.. but since you posted that publicly... even though you had the decency to remove the names.. You'd be one of the people that I'd aim at... That contributes in no way to this thread and is a useless post.. It could have been sent to Neg and MSM in a PM... or it could have been ignored because in all fairness the APs are for self moderation and it seems like a good number of the members of this site wish to see this thread closed... Maybe we should have set guidelines that if the mods recieve X number of reports about a thread it is closed.... otherwise I think that negging people in a thread to close it is fair game... It's using APs for their intented purpose... to moderate the site the way we see fit... certain members ( which may in the future include myself if this thread goes on much longer) don't feel that this thread should be open.... to that I say Amen.. It's freedom of expression and that's what they're doing.... Expressing their desire to close this thread.
And Gore: don't make me ban your silly ass because you feel the need again to show off your AntiPoints.
Aren't the APs for self moderation??? That's what the users throwing around the negs are doing... attempting to self moderate the site. Maybe it should be taken as a hint that this thread should be closed... because if it's not going to be then the people that are negging others really aren't doing anything agains the rules...
Peace,
HT

X number of reports... as in "more than zero"? That's the number of reports I received on this thread. If people really are only negging random posts in this thread to have it closed, then that's sad. There's the PM system, there's the report button.
I prefer to go by reported posts rather than by how many members negged random posts. BTW: this thread is still "extremely positive". How's that for self-moderation.

Greetings All:
I agree. This thread has long since outlived its usefulness. My intent was to have a constructive and positive discussion about possible changes that could be made to help improve the current environment.
Instead, it's become a microcosm of the very same problems that I was addressing.
Perhaps it's time that this thread is put to sleep.

Hey Hey,
I never said that you had recieved any... I'm just saying that maybe there should be an addition to the "rules" of the site that says if say 5 members report a thread or 10 members report a thread then it'll be closed (make the site slightly more democratic.... give a little thread reported X times in the corner or something like that)... While it may be sad that they are negging to close it... It is the right that they have.... However since it's yet to have been reported.. I'll click that button just so you get one in protest to the life of the thread.
Peace,
HT
