    And the "weiner" is... Vioxx.

    So nice to know that now I can get myself killed with a recalled drug instead of getting "**** and ass" shots. The question I want to know is how can I truly stop it without compromising my mailing lists and such (spam filters by ISPs catch all the security stuff from Full Disclosure and other lists and have very simplistic ruleset to eliminate it -- that is, I can't put in a rule that say look for these words in the subject).

    NEW YORK (Reuters) -- Porn ads slipped down the list of top junk e-mails in 2004, replaced by those hawking online Vioxx prescriptions, ID theft scams and stock pick information, America Online said.

    Although "HOT LESBIAN ACTION" made the list of most frequently sent junk e-mails, or spam, lurid displays of pornography are now more easily blocked by filters offered by AOL and other Internet service providers.

    The types of spam have also changed considerably and now feature deceptively simple text messages and Web addresses that link to sites, according to AOL, the world's largest Internet service provider and a unit of Time Warner Inc. CNN.com is also a unit of Time Warner Inc.

    Junk e-mail senders have also gotten more sophisticated and are now generally controlled by several top "king pin spammers," the company said.

    AOL on Tuesday said junk e-mails received by its subscribers had dropped 75 percent largely due to better built-in filters and blocks, based on a poll of complaints it compiled.

    Why don't you just set up a filter to redirect these emails with those words to a specific folder.... ? Granted it won't 'get' rid of them but at least they will be out of sight until you will want to deal with them. This is what I do with my hotmail account. pfff.

    I don't get any of those.......................Only viagra and penile enlargement.(what are they trying to say) LOL

    I must admit my isp's email filters are about as much use as a chocolate fire guard, so i do tend to, as Kurt suggests filter with outlook to a junk folder, it works quite well. I just delete the lot every now and again.

    Should be spelled Wiener, but oh well.

    Well, I hate to bust the bubble from you guys but weiner does not really mean Sausage. It means a person from Vienna, Austria. You see in German, Vienna is Wien and a person from Vienna is a Wiener. Yes go and laugh. Just like, a person from Hamburg, Germany is a Hamburger!

    But in light of it, when these foods were given the name they were given the name as if they came from the city they where created.

    I didn't get any spam in my gmail account untill I cancelled my subscription to some software I had, now I am getting the 50% off software stuff.
    But the junkmail filters are catching all of it.
