Grunt, static electricity is kind of a misnomer. Like centrifigal force. The key word here is Static, non moving. What it is is a charge that builds and builds and builds untile there is enough difference in potential between positive and negative for electricty to flow. It's easier to just call it Static Electricity, but electricity requires certain things and when it moves it's not static any more. So then the point becomes ... pointless. In the physical universe we understand perpertual motion is bunk. But hey who wouldn't want it? Perhaps we'll find it but it won't be with magnets.
//EDIT oh and those of us with some hindsight, meaning we have been on the planet for a while, have recognized many many claims and then requests for investments in "purpetual motion" In fact for decades, so we should all be owning one by now.
