I've got an old box with 95 running [?] on it, and to access the web, let alone D/Ling anything is only possible through AOL They are the only [OK, make me a big fibber] ISP that still lets you use 95 in the UK.
So, does your ISP know what OS you are trying to surf with ?
It MAY be related directly to the age of the S/W.
As for the ISP and whether they KNOW, it's a thought that has only just bounced around my [remarkably empty, and rarely used] skull.
DO they know what OS you are using ?
I've never actually had to enter which flavour of windoze I've been using to get an account.
The 95 is from my out-laws ................... THEY did all the faffing about trying to get it to surf.
[edit]
the difference between in-laws and out-laws ?
Out-laws are WANTED
so now I'm in my SIXTIES FFS
WTAF, how did that happen, so no more alterations to the sig, it will remain as is now

Angelic..
When you set the machine up..you just installed IE 5.5 .... if you want theALL of the right click capabilities or as MS called the The "Desktop tools" You need to install IE 4 FIRST then What ever Browser you please..
You will be suprised how much easier things are when the Installation is done in the correct order..

If you can't fix it, wanna sell that box? It has 95, it will run Doom Collector's Edition. which I got **** I'll use that as a dual or tri boot system. Slackware + Free BSD + Windows 95. Then I'll write ANOTHER TUTORIAL on how I did it just to piss off the people who have recently started negging and flaming my tutorials.
