You just got to love it.
The US says it will not deport him to any country that would hand him over to Mr Castro's regime in Cuba.
Venezuela said on Wednesday it would not hand Mr Posada Carriles over, and Mr Castro said he would be happy to see the Cuban exile tried in Venezuela.
Basically it means that he cant be tried by the country against which he committed the acts of terrorisim. Be like captureing Bin laden then having him tried by IRAN or by the talibans.
Venezuela said the US would be guilty of double standards if it sheltered a man accused of terrorism while claiming to fight a war on terror.
"It would be condemned around the world," Vice President Jose Vicente Rangel said.
"It seems that for some there is a good terrorism and a bad terrorism."
I guess that sums it up he was a good terrorist. All those people on that plane were bad communist cubain type people so it was more or less alright to bomb the plane.

I know, you gotta love it!
"The US guilty of harbouring Terrorist...?" It was a risible topic wasn't it? Just to think an Irish man would ask such a question, barley sparing us of the common diatribes.
***Insert Irish accent*** That's just a wee-bit hypocritical don't you think? Spare me your blarney laddie.
Are there terrorists on your little island? If so, how many miles away from you?

Shows how much you understand about the situtation in Ireland. While what you say might have some justification for northern Ireland It doesnt work for the republic. Also Ireland never had a problem extraditing terrorists to England. As far as i am concerned and that goes for about 90% of the population of the republic ,the english can have all the IRA,UVF,UDA,ect members it wants. As long as they get a fair trail . There should be no safe place for them be they republican, unionist, catholic or protestant.
Now taking the US for the past couple of years have been screaming about how all terrorist are bad and should be brought before the justice of the country against which they committed their crimes it should now use the chance to prove it means what it was saying. It doesnt look like it is going to do it.
so !mitationRust you are right it is hypocritical.
Edit : !mitationrust I checked your link. I use the State departements site a lot for my own research.
The real Ira is a break off group from the IRA. It broke away after the goodfriday agreement was signed in the 90's. It is supported by less people in the north than the IRA was. It also has no real support in the south so it doesnt really support your case for me being hypocritical.

the US does have a history of granting political asylum to the criminals of other nations including terrorists such as Ilyas Akhmadov.
