In firefox go to Bookmarks>Manage Bookmraks ...
Then in the Bookmarks Manager click file>Export -----> this will save your firefox bookmark as .HTML file ...
Move on to IE, click file> IMport and Export Wizard>Click Import Favorit then next ... in the next screen select Import from file or address then specify the location of the previously saved bookmark {.HTML} ... then you will find the links there again .. i think this works nicely ...
cheers

this is to Black Cluster: i did everything as you suggested and it worked fine until i got to the point in IE where you upload the bookmarks that i just saved as an HTML file.. i loaded it and clicked next : it says imports destination folder, it says select the folder where the imported favorites will be placed and that is blank! i cant get anything to put them into... this is frustrating me!

ok i think i figured out part of my problem... earthlink is my internet provider and something messed and i tried reinstall it and i got some kind of error involving my favorites and i also got this error: D:/windows/access/earthlinkcommon.msi returning 1603.... when i click the "add to favorites button or the organize favorites" button nothing happens... im not understanding why i cant add a favorite or recover my old ones when using IE but in firefox it works fine.

Hmmm,
im not understanding why i cant add a favorite or recover my old ones when using IE but in firefox it works fine.
OK I can explain that: Firefox uses a different file. I believe that synchronisation is not automatic?
It is starting to sound as if your IE favourites file has become corrupted in some way such that IE no longer recognises it properly.
This could be because it has lost its folders.......remember that when you do an install of IE it has some standard folders in there already.
My next moves if nothing else works:
1. Download Mozilla 1.7
2. Copy the Firefox favourites into Mozilla
3. Export them into IE
If that did not work, I would make a copy of the favourites file from another system and replace the existing one with that.
